Connect: messaging for classes and families

• Class channels are created from teaching assignments, so the right teachers, students and guardians are in each one.
• School-set rules for who may start direct messages, moderation tools, reporting, and message retention periods.
• Connect is not end-to-end encrypted. Messages are encrypted in transit and at rest, and authorised school staff can review them for safeguarding.

ConnectPlus: live video classes

• Only people assigned to a class can join it, using short-lived join links.
• Prepaid participant-minutes, valid for 12 months, earliest-expiring used first.
• Minutes are reserved when a class is scheduled, so two classes can never spend the same credits.
• Hosts get warnings at 10, 5 and 1 minute before credits or scheduled time run out, then a short grace period. Classes are never ended without warning.
• Recording is off by default.
• Microsoft Teams meeting links can be attached instead, at no credit cost.
• When school is disrupted, classes can switch to remote learning with attendance from online participation reviewed by the teacher.

Status: live video runs against a simulator in the demo. The planned provider is Cloudflare RealtimeKit, which will be activated only after its current pricing, terms and technical details are verified and approved. See product status.
